Artist Spotlight: Firefly Studios

Founded in the late 1990s, Firefly Mosaic Jewelry designs are deeply inspired by the nature, gardens and rich colors of Guatemala. The studio employs the indigenous people of Santiago Atitlan to handmake each piece with beautiful materials like Austrian crystals, Czech glass beads, German silver wire and sterling-plated brass findings.

The workshop provides fair wages and comfortable working conditions in a light-filled studio surrounded by gardens and patrolled by the friendly shop dogs, Max and Charlie. Handpicked artisans take traditional indigenous skills—like embroidery and weaving—and transform them into jewelry-making skills.
